Catching a glimpse of the vibrant life that lurks beneath the ocean’s surface is what attracts many marine enthusiasts and divers to Bocas del Toro in Panama. What's included

Project work

Dive to collect data that assists in coral reef conservation efforts.

Accommodation

Live in shared dorm-style accommodation at the research station – a PADI 5-star dive resort.

Meals

Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner (plus a dive snack) Monday through Saturday.

Airport transfer

You’ll get collected from the airport.

Comprehensive pre-departure support

Includes a dedicated support coordinator to answer your questions, an Essential Info Pack, and a webinar to learn more about your program.

Comprehensive in-country support

Includes a welcome orientation, including safety, culture and environmental info. A Program Manager is there to support you.

24/7 mental health support

Receive support services provided by licensed professionals.

Training

Learn about coral reef substrate, anatomy, reproduction, geomorphology and diseases, as well as monitoring techniques and data entry.

Diving

Participate in 10-12 dives a week to explore the Bocas del Toro marine ecosystem.

Diving equipment

Equipment included: BCD, tank, weights, regulator, air fills, wetsuit, fins, DSMB, reel, mask and torch. Dive computers can be rented.
What's not included

Flights and airport taxes, medical and travel insurance, visa costs, police or background check, additional drinks and gratuities, extra local excursions, personal items and toiletries, meals on Sundays, PADI certifications and dive medical.

Your accommodation

Nestled between the rich vegetation of the Bocas del Toro jungle is where you will find your accommodation. This spacious bungalow comes equipped with two dormitory-style rooms containing bunk beds, and a single room with a queen-size bed. The space also includes two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room and a living room.

 

The bungalow is in close proximity to the dive centre and just 80 metres from the beach. After an adventure-filled day, enjoy the tranquillity of the jungle and soak up the last rays of the sun from one of the bungalow terraces. 

 

At night, sit down for a communal meal with housemates, share stories and prepare for the next day. Before sneaking off to bed, be sure to carve out some time for our adorable base dog, Mika!
